Desiree DeLeon

1st Grade Teacher

Desiree DeLeon is currently a first grade teacher at Witchcraft Heights Elementary School. She holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education and Bachelors in Human Development from Merrimack College. Desiree’s career started in the Salem Public Schools as a special education paraprofessional. After completing her Masters, Desiree was hired at Hardy Elementary school in Arlington, MA as a First Grade teacher. Desiree taught in Arlington for 3 years before returning back to WHES to teach First Grade. 

Desiree’s experiences in special education and first grade have helped her to create inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments for her students. She strives to support all students’ social and emotional needs by identifying their strengths, interests and goals. 

When she is not working, Desiree loves spending time with family and friends, traveling to new places, attending sporting events, concerts and going to the beach.
