Dear Witchcraft Heights Elementary Community,

I am honored by the opportunity to step into the role as the Interim Assistant Principal at WHES. I share Principal Carmona’s dedication to building a school culture of curious, independent, and passionate learners. Together, we will build a community that supports members’' ability to take chances and grow into their abilities and beyond.  I believe that we can make Witchcraft a “magical” place of learning!

I have been serving the students of Salem for the past 13 years as a classroom teacher and teacher leader. I began my career as a dual language kindergarten teacher, where I worked building relationships with multilingual families to better support the homeschool connection. Most recently I have served as a first grade teacher here at Witchcraft Heights Elementary. I  also take with me my experiences as a special education co-teacher into this new role as an Instructional Leader. I am committed to the work of  engaging families as partners in the school community and creating community connections to support authentic learning for all learners. I value the importance of building strong and positive relationships with all community members. I will strive to be transparent and clear in communicating with members of our community.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking and traveling with my family. We enjoy spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee kayaking and enjoying  the great outdoors. I also love to cook!

It is my goal to combine my experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, and creative leader who will help guide and empower our community to create an optimal learning environment for all. I look forward to working with you as a partner and getting to know each of you, learn from you, to better serve the WHES community.

Best Regards,

Nicole Brunelle Mateo
