I have been teaching at Witchcraft Heights Elementary School since 1998. I started here as a third grade teacher and now work as a Reading Specialist. In addition to a Master's Degree, I have continued my education with the Reading Recovery training and Reading Licensure Accreditation from Salem State College. As the mother of three young children, I value the importance of reading in the home and exposing children to the wonderful world of books. One of the best parts of working on the Reading Team is being able to help plan fun literacy activities for our children. Witchcraft Heights is a fabulous place to be!
I have been teaching for over 20 years. I began working in my current role as a Reading Specialist in 2000. Prior to that, I taught as a classroom teacher at WHES in grades 1-2, and 3. I also taught in the multiage program at the Federal St. School. I have taught all grades K-5. I am a proud product of the Salem Public Schools. I attended the Horace Mann School as a child and graduated from Salem High School. I have a strong connection to WHES as my father was the first Principal of the school. I enjoy working with children and being able to assist students to develop their reading skills. I believe that reading is one of life's greatest gifts. It is most rewarding to see a child become a reader and writer. I hope to instill a love of literature and life-long learning
to my students. It is a privelege to be able to teach and work in a role that I love!
